Restaurant; Union), a busy town (10,200 inhab.) on the Eger, with branch-
lines to (22 M.) Lobositz (p. 232) and to (8 M.) Postelberg (p. 249). —
38 M. Zlonitz (797 ft.); branch to (22 ½ M.) Raudnitz (p. 233). — 44 M.
Schlan (925 ft. ; Rail. Restaurant), on the Rote Bach, an old town of 9500
inhab.; 50 ½ M. Swole≇owes (junction for the railway from Kralup to
St⌉ebichovic and Vina⌉ic). From (68 M.) Dušnik (1280 ft.) a branch-line leads

on the Bodenbach and Komotau line (p. 232), has large cotton-mills.

148 ½ M. Railway (Buschtiehrad Line) in 5 ½-8 ½ hrs. (fares 19 K. 20,
11 K. 40, 6 K. 30 h.; express 27 27 K., 16 K. 60, 8 K. 90 h.).
Prague (640 ft.), see p. 217. The train starts from the Staats-
Bahnhof, crosses the Moldau to the (1 ¾ M.) Bubna Station, and
skirts the town (Kleinseite) in a wide curve. 2 ½ M. Sandtor
Station, near the Belvedere (p. 229); 6 M. Weleslawin; 7 M. Libotz (1060 ft.). To the left rises the Weisse Berg; on its N.W. slope
is the Stern (p. 230). 8 M. Rusin; 10 ½ M. Hostiwitz; 18 ½ M.
Kladno ( 1345 ft.; Rail. Restaurant), a busy mining town (18,600
inhab.). Branch-line in 1 ¼ hr. to (17 ½ M.) Kralup (p. 233),
traversing the rich Kladno coal-district. — To the right of (34 M.)
Renč are the heights of the Sbanwald. — 39 M. Luzna-Lischan
(1250 ft.; Rail. Restaurant).
To beraun, 33 ½ M., railway in 3 hrs. — From (6 M.) Rakonitz (Krone),
a town (6600 inhab.) with two ancient gate-towers and the Gothic church of
St. Barbara, a branch-line runs to Mlatz (p. 249; 29 ½ M.) and another to
Petschau (p. 217), viâ Pladen and Protiwitz. — 15 M. Burg Pürglitz, founded
about 1100, was splendidly restored by Emp. Charles IV., and now belongs
to Prince Fürstenberg. 16 M. Pörglitz is the chief place in the prince's
domain (ca. 220 sq. M.). Thence we follow the Beraun, valley to (33 M.)
Beraun (p. 245).
42 M. Krupa (junction for Kolleschowitz, 8 M.); 46 M. Milostin-
Kounowa. The line crosses a wooded hill and enters the valley of
the Trnowa. 62 M. Trnowan (650 ft.; to the right, Schloss Dobrit-
schan, with a small mineral bath). The train then crosses the Eger. —
64 ½ M. Saaz (772 ft.; Rail. Restaurant; Engel; Hanslik), an old
town on the right bank of the Eger, with 16,200 inhabitants. The
old Dekanats-Kirche was rebuilt after a fire in 1383; the Rathaus
dates from 1559. Hops are largely cultivated here. From Saaz to
